Abstract
Neurilemmoma is a benign neurogenic tumor which originate from the nerve sheath or the cells of Schwann of the cranial and spinal nerve as well as peripheral nerves. Characteristically, it is a slow growing, solitary, well encapsulated benign mass that seldom recurs even if the tumor is incompletely removed. It is often found in the peripheral nerves of the head and neck, and occurs most frequently as an acoustic neuroma. Recently the authors have experienced the neurilemmoria arising in the tongue on 25 years old male. The patient complained of a nut sized mass on the dorsum of the tongue for 2 years. The tumor was successfully removed under the general anesthesia. -The pathological report was neurilemmoma which was termed Antoni type A.
